Case study
A US direct-to-consumer accessories brand
A DTC store built around an exact-fit catalogue
This direct-to-consumer brand sells accessories made for specific product models, so a wrong fit ends in a return. We built a WooCommerce store whose catalogue maps every product to the models it fits, with live carrier rates for US and Canadian orders.
- $800K+ annual gross sales
- 10K+ active users a month
- US and Canada shipping
Service: E-commerce Solutions
The challenge
The brand sells accessories made for specific product models, so its catalogue is a large matrix of variants. Customers have to find the exact fit for what they own, or the sale ends in a return.
It also ships to the US and Canada, which needs live multi-carrier rates at checkout and a dependable fulfilment pipeline.
What we did
- Built the store on WooCommerce, hosted on AWS behind Cloudflare for speed and protection.
- Designed a variant architecture that maps every product to the models it fits.
- Showed real-time rates from UPS, FedEx, USPS and Canada Post through a single multi-carrier integration.
- Connected orders to ShipStation for fulfilment, kept separate from the storefront.
- Added Braintree with PayPal at checkout, live chat for pre-purchase fit questions, and Mailchimp for lifecycle email.
Key decisions
- AWS over managed hosting. Infrastructure control and cost efficiency at this sales volume.
- One carrier integration, not four. A single integration point means one place to configure, maintain and debug.
- Fulfilment as its own layer. The operations team manages shipping without touching the store.
What this delivered
Every product maps to the models it fits, so customers can find the exact fit for what they own. Live rates from four carriers at checkout cover US and Canadian orders, and the operations team manages shipping without touching the store.
