Case study

An enterprise software company

A developer education platform at enterprise scale

An enterprise software company wanted a public learning platform for its global developer community, built to its own standards for code quality, performance and security. We delivered courses, interactive exercises and single sign-on on its enterprise WordPress hosting.

  • 5,000+ active developers
  • 2,000+ new sign-ups a month
  • 30K+ monthly pageviews

Service: Enterprise Web Platforms

The challenge

The client needed a public learning platform for its global developer community: courses and certifications on its own enterprise WordPress hosting, single sign-on with its product ecosystem, and rich interactive content.

Everything also had to meet the client’s internal standards for code quality, performance and security.

What we did

  • Delivered courses with Sensei LMS, customised for the client’s certification flows.
  • Added interactive quizzes, drag-and-drop exercises and code-based interactions with H5P, without custom development for each interaction type.
  • Connected single sign-on to the client’s existing identity system, so developers move between the platform and the main product without a second login.
  • Built course authoring on the client’s own block framework, with React components where standard blocks weren’t enough.
  • Tuned performance with edge caching, asset optimisation and lazy-loaded course content.

Key decisions

  • An LMS, not a custom engine. Sensei LMS brought a mature, WordPress-native course and certification feature set to customise, so delivery was faster than building a custom engine.
  • Editors in control. H5P and the client’s block framework let the content team build and publish courses without waiting for engineering.
  • Existing sign-on. Using the client’s identity system avoided a separate password store and let developers sign in once.

What this delivered

The platform gives a developer community courses and certifications on the client’s own enterprise WordPress hosting, with one sign-on shared with the main product. The content team publishes courses without engineering help, and the build passed the client’s internal security and performance audits.
